Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how HK MobiUnity ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use Pedometer Step Counter (the "App" or "Service"). The App is a pedometer, walking activity, route, goal, report, badge, and Health sync tool distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the App.

2. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Pedometer Step Counter and to the information processed when you download, install, access, purchase, subscribe to, or use the App. Contact details are provided in the "Contact Us" section below.

3. Summary of Our Data Practices

  • The App does not provide a self-operated in-app account registration or login system.
  • The App does not provide public posting, public social sharing, uploads, comments, messaging, or public user-generated content features.
  • We do not collect or store full payment card numbers, bank account details, Apple Account passwords, or Google Account passwords.
  • The App does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information or share personal information for targeted advertising.
  • Step, workout, Health, route, preference, badge, and history data are used to provide activity tracking and related App features.
  • The App uses network access for app services, subscription and entitlement functions, attribution, maps, in-app review, support, and technical operations.
  • Local activity records and user-selected audio files are primarily handled on the device unless a specific feature, platform service, or support request requires network processing.

4. Information We May Collect

4.1 Information You Provide to Us

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including support emails, feedback, bug reports, issue descriptions, screenshots, logs, attachments, and other information you choose to send to us.

4.2 Activity, Fitness, and Health Data

When you use step counting, activity tracking, statistics, or Health sync, the App may process:

  • step count;
  • walking or running distance;
  • calories and active calories;
  • active time, exercise time, activity intensity, or movement minutes;
  • pace and workout statistics;
  • daily goals, progress, reports, trends, badges, streaks, and walking history;
  • HealthKit data on iOS and Health Connect data on Android, only after you grant the relevant platform permission.

Health and fitness data is used to provide the App's activity tracking, statistics, reports, goals, badges, and sync features. It is not used for advertising.

4.3 Location and Route Data

When you use outdoor workout or route map features, the App may request location permission to show your current location, record routes, draw maps, and calculate distance, pace, and related workout metrics. The App is designed for foreground workout and route use and does not declare background location use.

On iOS, the App may request temporary precise location for workout tracking when the system has granted approximate location and precise route recording is needed. On Android, the App may use approximate or precise location depending on what you grant.

4.4 Device, Network, Diagnostics, and Identifiers

For app operation, security, diagnostics, attribution, subscription validation, and service improvement, the App may process technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, package or bundle identifier, screen size, system language, app language, network type, public IP address, approximate country or region, generated app identifier or UUID, crash logs, diagnostic logs, performance data, and feature usage events.

4.5 Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase or restore premium access, we may receive or process limited purchase-related information from Apple, Google, or platform billing services, such as product identifier, transaction identifier, receipt or purchase token, subscription status, entitlement status, purchase date, renewal date, expiration date, cancellation status, refund status, trial status, billing issue status, country or region, currency, and platform type.

4.6 Local App Data and User-Selected Audio

The App may store activity records, goals, settings, badges, route records, history, cached data, and preferences locally on your device. If you choose a local audio file during a workout, the App uses the system file picker and plays the selected file. The App does not request broad media library scanning permission for this feature.

Deleting the App may delete local App data from the device, but it does not cancel subscriptions or delete records kept by Apple, Google, or other platform providers.

5. Device Permissions Checklist

The App requests permissions only for specific features:

  • Motion and Fitness / Activity Recognition: used to read device step and motion data for step counting, live step updates, pace, and workout activity features.
  • Health Data: used to read supported HealthKit or Health Connect data, including steps, distance, calories, active calories, activity intensity, exercise, and movement time after your authorization.
  • Location: used for outdoor workout maps, route recording, current location display, distance calculation, pace calculation, and route visualization.
  • Temporary Precise Location on iOS: used for workout route accuracy when you choose route tracking and the system requires a precise-location purpose.
  • Network Access: used for app services, maps, subscription verification, attribution, in-app review, support, diagnostics, public IP lookup, and technical operations.
  • Files / Documents: used only when you choose a local audio file through the system file picker for playback during workouts.

You can manage or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features may stop working or become less accurate if required permissions are disabled.

6. Common Third-Party SDKs and Service Providers Checklist

The App may rely on the following services:

  • Apple App Store, StoreKit, and Apple platform services: app distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, receipts, refunds, restore purchase, Family Sharing where shown by the App Store, platform analytics, Apple Search Ads attribution, crash diagnostics, and in-app review.

8. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we process personal data based on contract performance, your consent, our legitimate interests, legal obligations, and protection of rights or safety. Optional permissions and Health or location access are based on your platform-level authorization and can be withdrawn through device settings.

9. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers, platform providers such as Apple and Google, map providers, support providers, legal or safety authorities when required, and parties involved in a business transfer. Apple and Google process app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, reviews, and platform account information under their own terms and privacy policies.

10. International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live. Where required by law, we use reasonable safeguards such as contractual protections, platform controls, access controls, and security measures.

11. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Local App data remains on your device until you delete it, clear it, or uninstall the App. Support emails may be retained for customer service and dispute records. Subscription and purchase records may be retained for entitlement verification, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, platform compliance, and dispute handling. Technical logs, attribution data, analytics, and crash data are retained according to operational needs and platform or provider settings.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, operating system, app store account, and backups secure.

13. Your Choices and Controls

You may manage permissions in device settings, manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play settings, restore purchases in the App where supported, disable notifications in device settings, manage tracking authorization on iOS, manage ad personalization or advertising identifiers on Android, and contact us to exercise privacy rights where applicable.

The App processes step, fitness, workout, HealthKit, Health Connect, and route-related data to provide activity tracking, reports, goals, badges, and workout features. This information may be considered consumer health data in some jurisdictions. We use such data only to provide requested App features, support, security, subscription entitlement, diagnostics, and legal compliance. We do not use health or fitness data for advertising.

16. Children's Privacy and Age-Appropriate Design

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, children under 16, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent where required. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please use the contact details in the "Contact Us" section below.

17. No User Account by Default

The App does not require users to create a self-operated in-app account. Apple Account and Google Account services are managed by Apple and Google respectively and are not accounts provided by us.

18. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete local App data by deleting content inside the App where supported or uninstalling the App. Subscription cancellation must be handled separately through Apple App Store or Google Play settings. You may use the contact details in the "Contact Us" section below for privacy assistance.
